Well, waiting for a firmly ordered watch to be made and delivered ...

... is not exactly a "waiting list" in my definition. You are aware of the price you'll have to pay for the final product, and (mostly) have at least a rough understanding about the time it will need until delivery.

Waiting lists...

And just out of curiosity ๐Ÿค” What waiting lists are you on? What models are you waiting for? Of course, this topic is sensitive, and I suppose most of us will not answer honestly ๐Ÿ˜… ...

None!

I stick with my old concept, the brands want to sell, I'm not playing that game of lists, sorry.

No games!

I don't mind waitlists, but they way they are handled by big brands like Rolex, Patek, ALS, and AP are outright disrespectful towards customers. There's no real clarity whether the "list" is real, and just seems to require you to buy a bunch of trash that...

The wait is nuts but on the plus side it has kept me from buying anything else since I put my deposit down. It's actually saving me money ๐Ÿ˜‚

 By: Fastwong : March 9th, 2024-16:57
I've been trying to ignore it the last few years too hoping it would make the wait go faster and I also held off speccing the watch figuring my tastes would change. I waffled a lot the last few years but it gave me time experience other KV watches which t...

Why not tantalum! Also why 44mm?!

I ordered Ti, still not even sure I'm ready for the upcharge to platinum let alone tantalum. I remember seeing the 44mm tantalum case he did for the MR, epic, downturned lugs, scared to ask the cost :)

 By: Fastwong : March 10th, 2024-21:12
Are you thinking tantalum? Bet it would look epic with the dark finish of the inverse! As for the 44mm, I just like big watches. I overlooked getting KV for years not realizing they made a 44mm case so once they confirmed they could do a 44mm in Ti I coul...

Interesting! Excited to see how it turns out. There was a larger inverse that recently came up at auction btw. At inichen or however you spell it lol. Really cool specs too! Btw, I donโ€™t think tantalum is as much as the platinum upcharge. I might be wrong...

What is that Groucho Marx quote: "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member"?

 By: chk : March 7th, 2024-07:51
First world problem: I already 'joined' one club, as I am waiting on a second Patek Aquanaut. The brand is just saving us from having too many watches! Chk

Hahaha! Great quote ๐Ÿ˜‚

 By: El Padre : March 7th, 2024-09:44
That is true. I think that waiting lists have a positive aspect because thanks to them we do not make compulsive purchases. There is usually plenty of time to think about whether it needs another watch ๐Ÿ˜…

One of my absolute favorites!!!

The aquanaut wears well for sure.

I tend to believe in the โ€œwait listsโ€. Personally for me most came true with time(except the 5711 white dial). Recently I got the call from VC for the perpetual overseas, in 2020, a Patek 5320 from Tiffanyโ€™s, now on the recently confirmed spot on AP offsh...
