Novelty: Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition.

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2014-05:26
Novelty, I wouldn't say that, but a new iteration of a classic model for Ulysse Nardin, certainly. The dial, which receives some white and red touches, the colors of the Monaco Principauty, also shows sailing boats. The hands, too, are finished in red and...

Without date...and...

Monaco 2014 on dial it would be tres bien ;) Congrats for 87K my dear friend.....what mind boggling feat in same time frame I "collected" zero less so I'm pretty confident when I say amazing unbelievable bravo Yours D

Because these are the same colors than Croatia? ;)

100 % agree with you, the menton Monaco was not necessary. The Red and White were enough to make us understand that it was related to Monaco. Best, Nicolas

I'm too obvious ;) [nt]

I definitely like it as a sports watch

But certainly would not buy it. Does that make sense? So many wonderful offerings from Ulysse Nardin, I dream of some different models :-)

Hi Nico, although the Monaco Limited Edition is very attractive, my bugdet for UN , ...

..., if there is still an amount left in it, would be allocated to other pieces (namely ones from Donzé Cadran) !! Thanks for the post. Cheers, Gordon

I could have bet on your answer. Go figure why! ;)

That is great to have such a determaniation... Still, I have in mind the conversation we had during a superb breakfast in Hong Kong... All enamels for a ding dong enamel? Remember? ;) Torture is sometimes a pleasure.... :) All the best, Gordon. Nicolas

yes Nico, I remember well your suggestion during our breakfast in HK !!

The idea / concept is great and unfortunately the ability to make this dream comes true is limited as it involves a large sum upfront. Effectively the "present value" of the annual watch budget for the next many years. :( Do appreciate your thinking thoug...

That is our very common problem, my friend.

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2014-09:28
Did I tell you that I was, for a few years now, very tempted to sell most of my watches, to keep only 10 ith me, to then fund only 3 or 4 big monsters, and to end this way? Easier to write than to do, I concede, but how interesting! ;) All the very best, ...

So Nicolas, what would be your UN monster? Circus? Alexander?

Something else? Their minute repeaters certainly seem worthy of great sacrifice!

The Gengis Khan is forthe Vlad in me. ;)

But a Tellurium or an Astrolabium would make my day! Best, Nicolas

Is a beautiful watch, on the basic lines but I don't get why UN put more and more things on top of the basic beauty. It could be a very desirable piece, IMHO if they put a more plain strap, get rid of the "Monaco 2014" and the rubber on the bezel. Call me...

Well, the aluminium insert on the strap is far from being a novelty.

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2014-09:22
But I do agree ith you that " less is more " is better.... Though, I am not disturbed by the red and white. That makes me think of a certain Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Barakuda: ...

That is indeed a very Vlad-esque watch

 By: MichaelC : September 20th, 2014-09:54
With some touches of "blood red" of course!

I agree 100% ...

Less is more. I imagine this UN, with a black rubber strap and with a simple metal bezel. Perfectly wearable and a very desirable one. This way, one on the wrist of a Drug Lord (think Scarface). Cheers, Nilo

Aaah, Scarface! :))) [nt]

"LIMITED EDITION" Insert is a grave error. They've definitely cluttered

and cheapened a very appealing, solid base design.

A nice sports watch. But I must agree with Michael C that my heart, though it belongs to

UN, is pulled in other directions rather than this. Is the movement blued? To me the heart of UN lies in the novelty lines burt I do appreciated the business need to have such a product. The Monaco version is like other company's "limited edition", rehash...

I don't think the movement is blued, it would have been specified in the press file.

Thanks for your feedback, Mitch. If only they could offer a no date version... ;) Best, Nicolas

too fancy

They have "tarted up" the product
