In the flesh, Novelties '07, pt. 3: Colourful Maxi Divers

Colourful watches are not a real novelty for Ulysse Nardin: Several years ago, there was a bright yellow 1846 Marine Chronometer in the line. Unfortunately, I cannot show it now; I had archived many older watch pics on a site called Clubphoto, and had to realize now that this site went out of business without prior notification, taking all pics with it. Maybe I have backed up the pics on a CD somewhere. If I have bad luck, I have a backup, but on a ZIP disk, for which I now don't have a working drive left ...

Well, this is some of the nice things of living in computer age. So you have to take my word for it that UN had made brightly coloured watches before. However, the time's taste shifted to black and silver, and UN already was unconventional, when it started its "Blue" series. Now, the fashion of bright colours seems to have reached even high-class mechanical timepieces, so it is not astonishing to see some highly attractive specimens being offered by UN.

For now, the bright colour line is limited to the Maxi Diver, with its sportive outlines a prime candidate for colour experiments:

Maxi Diver in bright red

The material of the rubber straps is coloured through and through, so it does not wear off during use.

While I personally prefer timepieces that do not over-saturize my eyes within a year or so, I am convinced these watches will find many friends. I think it would be great if UN offered the colourful bezels as options for the silver and black faced standard Maxi Divers, so I can imagine an orange bezel on a black Diver to look really sharp!
