Your order makes it easy to see the evolution of "The Mother of all Concept Watches" (TMOACW, and I agree with you).
Gosh, so hard to choose. As with anything, it is difficult to beat the original. That seems to me will always be the "purest" of Freaks, sans the bezel lock. From there, little details I like (Rolf's signature on the lock - the only time I will declare I like the writing there), some I don't (like those Cotes de Geneve finishing).
The Freak Blue Phantom gave a great fresh look to the watch. I still adore it.
The Diavolos... more incredible technical innovation from UN, but an unnecessary inclusion on The Freak, IMO.
And now the new Cruiser line. For a Ulysse Nardin supporter who has never owned a Freak, the new version makes a lot of sense. An even fresher look, different enough from the original to not just be another version, but similar enough to be recognizable and a worthy standalone watch in the line. The blue version adds a touch more of the "concept" feel, and of course, a whole lot of UN spirit.
Thanks again Nicolas, a post for Marcus' archives for sure.
