..obviously What I mean is that I find the 2 Art Forms, Horology and Gravure, clashing or fighting for attention in this instance. The gravure on the dial distracts from the Horological Art of Measuring Time, in my opinion. A gravure on a watch case, as on a Reverso for example, is fine, even delicious, but not on the dial. It's a little bit like listening to a minute repeater with a military marching band parading in from of you, not really the best way to appreciate the delicate chiming sound, is it? So, I shall rephrase my statement; engraved dials on Measuring instruments are not my cup of camomille but are perfectly suitable for someone who sees them as suitable. It's all a matter of taste, I guess.
