Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Manufacture.

We saw several official pictures of the rose gold and white gold versions of this Watch, limited in each color to 200 pièces, which were warmly welcomed past year, if I remember correctly.

Here are three live pictures of this Skeleton Tourbillon. A modern skeleton, quite light in its appearance.

Modern not only in the aesthetics, but also in the way the Cal 170 is built, with its escapement Wheel and balance spring in silicium, beating at 18000 vibrations per hour and offering a good autonomy of 170 hours.

The case is 44 mm big, and nicely proportionned.

One thing you cannot see on the pictures, but you can feel when you play with the Watch is the smooth way the movement winds. Turn the crown, and you will see the barrel turning. Cool.

With that kind of watch, the outcome is always the same. Some will love it, others won't. It cannot be a consensual time keeper.

What is your feeling, on this one?

Best,

Nicolas.

You put it very well.. Can't be consensual.. On a personal note..

.. I'm not a skeleton aficionado ( except the Reverso), Guess, because I miss the " friendly face" of a well done dial; - although many might be happy with seeing all/ most of the inner virtues I do like the " theme" of the dominant GP- bridge(s) , the id...

This is not an " easy watch ". You already have to be sensible to Tourbillons and Skeleton

If it is not the case, then it won't be one for you, indeed. Thanks for your intesresting input, my friend. Best, Nicolas

Personally I don't like the hands at all and find the tourbillon cage quite small. But again, it is not an technical or objective remark, just a question of personal taste.

To say all, I am more impressed but the Royal Blue Tourbillon.

I fully agree...

but the interesting thing regarding this "new one" is that it is the first (except the Freak with tourbillon) UN in-house tourbillon (i.e. not made by Claret like the Royal Blue). Best, Goldenlutin

Although not my cup of tea, this reference does truly show the innovative and daring nature of UN to test boundaires. Cheers, Gordon

sits at home with me as a much prized addition to my UN family. To me the watch is another winner by UN. Yes you have to understand skeletons. The bridges are nicely finished. The workmanship excellent. The beauty of the tourbillon lies in its material. T...

To be fully able to appreciate it. And nothing can beat an owner's point of view! All the best, my friend, and thanks, once again, for your feedback. Nicolas

I love the concept of this watch and was wowed when it came out in the press releases.... however I have tried it on a few times and was a little underwhelmed by it on the wrist. I think it is just the amount of empty space and lack of presence on the wri...

My friend, how you compare this to the Reverso Skeleton Tourbillon?

 By: TdotBean : August 7th, 2014-19:27
Both fall on the same category of in house caliber and skeleton Tourbillon. I might prefer the JLC a bit more due more "space" but this UN has strong identity of the brand. Maybe if the bridge of this UN is slimmer ... ... but the watch need smaller in or...

Tyler, without doubt, I prefer the JLC Skeleton Tourbillon.

I find the JLC Skeleton Tourbillon to be more consistent, and I find the skeleton of the JLC to be " lighter " than the UN. Best, Nicolas

Unfortunately the live experience did not do it for me...

Calling it a skeleton first of all is not quite correct I believe, as these bridges and configuration have been planned from scratch, machined, and finished.....not "carved out "from a movement....I would say more open work than skeleton.. The sensation of ...

I love skeletonized tourbillons. Thanks for the great pics Nicolas. This is nicely executed but still my favorite from UN is the Royal Blue Tourbillon. Regards, ED-209
